Stanford Upsets USC!

Posted on September 17, 2012

We’re only three weeks into the college football season and the rankings already look very different than they did at the start of the season. As of Monday USC dropped from No. 2 to No. 13 in the AP poll and from No. 3 to No. 12 in the coaches’ poll.

And to which squad do we owe this honor?

The Stanford Cardinal!

Yep Stanford smacked USC Saturday…defeating the Trojans 21-14.

Let’s be clear…I don’t like Stanford or USC but when lines in the sand are drawn I’m riding with the Northern Cali team at all cost. That and USC fans are cocky as hell so I was so elated to watch the Cardinal defense nail QB Matt Barkley. He was sacked five times; twice during the final drive. The Cardinal defense also held the Trojans to 27 rushing yards on 23 attempts.

Stanford has beat USC the last five out of six times that the squads have met  but I was shocked…I didn’t see that coming lol I don’t think anyone did especially because Barkley was a Heisman front-runner. He will now end his college career against Stanford 0-4

Don’t fret USC fans…the Trojans aren’t completely out of it. Mostly because they will probably run the (Pac-12) table and could get another shot at Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship game.

And although a shot at the National Title game looks bleak it’s not impossible. USC tailback Curtis McNeal reminded Los Angeles Times reporters that Alabama lost a game and still won the national title game.

I sure hope that rings true…if not we will all have to hear bitter USC fans gripe about the SEC bias.

LOL nope! No bias…Your squad just lost and you’re upset! Ahahahhaha
