Apparently your past can come back to hunt you…just ask Dallas Mavericks guard Delonte West.

Monday, when the Mavs celebrated their 2011 NBA Championship title at the White House, West tweeted that he was unable to meet the president because he was arrested on a weapons charge from 2009.

The 28-year old says he was banned because he was once caught driving a motorbike with a loaded shotgun strapped to his back.

It’s always something with this guy!

Anyhow, the secret service released a statement saying that Delonte was cleared to join his teammates, but that every visitor over the age of 14 years old is subject to a background check. They normally allow 30 days to complete the check.

Sources say that West was arrested in 2009 for more than just carrying a weapon. Reports say that West was driving recklessly in Maryland after he cut up a police car, when officers caught him they found a Remington 870 shotgun strapped to his back inside a guitar case, as well as a 9mm Beretta handgun and a .357 Magnum in his pockets. They also found that he was carrying an eight-and-a-half inch Bowie knife.

Really Dude?

Why do you have all those weapons SIR and who cuts up a cop car? That’s not crazy at all now is it?

West ultimately made the trip to Washington D.C to visit his family but he will have to wait to meet President Obama.  He seems to think that it’s unfortunate that Mr. Obama didn’t get to meet him stating that he’s the president of his house.

Keep telling yourself that D.West.

In the future do us all a favor and think twice before driving on the mean streets of Maryland with major weaponry.

It’s not often that your team wins a championship and is honored at the White House…especially if you’re the Dallas Mavericks…so it’s unfortunate that Delonte West was at home tweeting while Dirk Nowitzki, Mark Cuban and the rest of the Mavs were shooting the breeze with Obama.

Sorry D! Access Denied!!!
